More than a preschool.

At Glendale Bright Start, we’re a little community where friendships begin, confidence grows, and childhood memories are made.

Close-knit community

  • Immersive care. Dedicated caregivers and an exciting curriculum.
  • Regular communication. Photos and updates shared through our newsletter.

Healthy habits

  • Healthy snacks provided to nurture growing children and curious minds.
  • A dedicated nap room with cribs for a restful sleep.

Never a boring day

  • Daily outdoor time. Safe and fun play in a designated outdoor space.
  • Weekly art and enrichment. Hands-on art classes led by a local artist.
  • Reading with puppies. Trained therapy puppies visit with their handlers, and children read aloud to a calm, patient listener.

Meet our teachers.

A caring team, joined by visiting educators who bring new experiences into the day.

Margaret

Site Director

Margaret has worked in early childhood education for over three decades. She brings warmth and patience to the classroom, helping children feel supported and ready to explore. Teaching has been a lifelong passion, and she has guided generations of young learners.

Janine

Teacher

Janine brings a love of working with children and families to Bright Start. She helps children feel welcome and supported as they learn through play, explore new interests, and build friendships. Working alongside the teaching team, she helps create a caring preschool community where children can grow in confidence.

Emma

Music Teacher

Emma helps children explore music through singing, rhythm, and movement. These experiences connect with HighScope’s emphasis on active learning, giving children opportunities to experiment with sounds and contribute their own ideas. She encourages children to participate at their own pace, helping them build confidence and connect with others through music.

Lala

Art Teacher

Lala helps children express their ideas through drawing, painting, and exploring different materials. In keeping with HighScope’s active learning approach, she encourages children to make choices, try their own ideas, and talk about what they create. Her art activities give children room to experiment and grow in confidence.

Enrichment educators

Visiting educators introduce children to new interests through creative arts, music, movement, science, and hands-on exploration. Their classes and activities add creative experiences to the school year.

Paper glasses for the whole class

A story about Site Director Margaret, told by Brigette Thompson, Professor of Child Development, East Los Angeles College.

Once a student in her class needed to wear glasses. He did not want to wear the glasses. Margaret took initiative. She obtained several photographs of all types of people (including children of all ages) wearing glasses from an optometrist office and displayed them in a booklet for the classroom. She also made all of the children paper glasses to wear to help the child feel more comfortable. The children thought it was fun and the boy began to wear his glasses by the end of the week.

Happy kids. Happy families. Bright beginnings.

Our greatest joy is creating a place where children are excited to arrive each morning, feel loved throughout their day, and leave with something new to share.
